At Knottys we specialize in butcher block countertops. We can make any custom length, width, and thickness. When it comes to butcher blocks, we have the nicest and widest selection to choose from, 13 kinds of wood in total: 12 hardwoods and 1 softwood. Our wood has been kiln-dried to avoid unnecessary warping or splitting and we use premium food-safe and water-resistant glue. Our standard finish is a maintenance-free protective sealer. The prices below are based on edge grain butcher blocks, our most common form. We also offer end grain and face grain butcher blocks. You can mix and match woods for the unique one-of-a-kind look you're after.

Disclaimer:

The following is a quick overview of some of the characteristics of the wood and finishes that you can expect from Knotty’s Woodwork. Please read them carefully. We bring these to your attention so that you may know, from start to finish, the type of product you can expect from us.

Wood is a natural resource - therefore, butcher block counters may vary in colour, texture, and grain. Wood characteristics naturally occurring (such as variations in colour, grain, mineral streaks, pinholes, and knots) are not considered defects. Colour variations in butcher blocks are also a natural occurrence due to species, region of growth, age, etc. Wood by nature will undergo expansion and contraction movements as it compensates and adjusts to changes in humidity and temperature.

If staining is required, the purpose of stain samples is a way to give the client a better idea of the overall look of the final product, not to show an exact replica of their furniture/countertop.

No two trees are alike and any variances will only increase the unique nature of the piece.
